How Instant Messaging Improves Real Life Interaction: Case Study of Blackberry Messenger Group

We are now living in a world where the technology has enabled us to communicate easily without the need to meet face-to-face in person. Social networking, video conference, instant messaging and other web 2.0 services makes our communication become more borderless yet it reduced the face-to-face interaction. This method of communication not only affecting the way we communicate with each other, but also the way we live.

For this research we will asked for respondents who are familiar to communicate using face-to-face, Social Networking (Facebook), and Instant Messaging (Blackberry Messenger Group), and try to compare and contrast those three methods. The research is conducted using quantitative method.
The findings suggest that communication using Instant Messaging do not correlates with the face-to-face communication method. In fact both of the methods are antagonizing each method. Social Networking media (Facebook) intermediates both of the methods and act as mediating medium of communication.
